Music is fundamental to my being, and I believe that it is integral to the education of any person. We all have rhythm and sound as a core part of our body, from the heartbeat to the sound of breath, and formal training in music is only an expansion of what already exists in every person. The body of a musician requires as much detailed physical analysis and focus as that of an elite athlete; all of my lessons begin with physical warm-ups to support the specific musculature required in the development of each instrument. Joy and play are essential elements of successful learning at any age, and I make certain that students learn without a lot of undue stress and anxiety. Adult students can expect the same support and respect as the youngest child. Music brings joy to the soul.

I hold a Doctorate in Music from McGill University’s Schulich School of Music, where I specialized in percussion under the mentorship of internationally acclaimed performers and pedagogues. My musical training began with classical piano studies at the age of five and continued with rigorous instruction through my adolescence. I studied with teachers trained in the Chinese Central Conservatory tradition, whose pedagogical lineage includes disciples of renowned pianists such as Fou Ts'ong and Yin Chengzong. My piano repertoire covered major works from the Classical and Romantic periods, and I was a regular participant in national youth competitions and conservatory masterclasses in China. In percussion, I studied under Aiyun Huang and Fabrice Marandola—both leading figures in contemporary percussion—and took part in masterclasses with Steven Schick and Dame Evelyn Glennie. As a performer, I have collaborated with ensembles including the Orchestre Symphonique de Montréal and leading contemporary music groups, bringing a versatile and international perspective to my musical work. I have taught both piano and percussion to students of all ages and levels, from absolute beginners to advanced and professional musicians. I teach all styles of music—classical, pop, jazz, and contemporary—and tailor each lesson to fit the student’s individual goals, interests, and learning pace. Whether working with amateur students exploring music for the first time or preparing advanced students for auditions and performances, my teaching is grounded in respect, encouragement, and a commitment to developing each student's unique artistic voice.

Hello! I use different learning methods depending on the profile of each student. In all cases, I transmit a real working method that will be useful for your entire life as a musician! I usually divide the course into 2 parts, with a more technical part (warming up the hand and working on left hand agility, small exercises on the problems you might encounter), and a more musical part with the pieces. If you don't know how to read scores, I can also teach music theory or use an auditory learning method! I also often suggest playing in a duet, because music is above all a sharing :) My teaching experience is varied: I have taught very young beginners (4 years old) and less young, and I also take care of the improvement of more advanced students! I also offer support in addition to courses at conservatories for example. I have been offering courses for 4 years now and I have always had excellent feedback from long-time students! :) If you are interested in composing, don't hesitate! I work for film music and I was assistant to a composer in Hollywood. I also won many international awards for my projects.
